Echo plug-in in Pentaho BI

This article demonstrates how you can extend Pentaho capabilities by means of plug-in development

Detail

Download Apache Ant from here and set ANT_HOME environment variable so that it can be run anywhere in your machine:
http://ant.apache.org/bindownload.cgi

Get the freeware version of Tortoise SVN from here
http://tortoisesvn.net/downloads.html

Checkout the plug-in source code from here
http://source.pentaho.org/svnroot/platform-plugins/echo-plugin/trunk/

Open <plug-in_sorurce_code_checkout_folder>/build. Properties file and point to your Pentaho directories
pentaho.dir=/home/khanaly/BI/biserver-ce
Option 1: Required entry for Building from source as above leave others as default
pentaho.dir=/home/khanaly/BI/biserver-ce
Run
Ant to build the plug-in
Ant installs to deploy the plug-in
Now create a new project in Pentaho and copy the plug-in content to the solutions folder newly created and then start or restart or bi server to view the plug-in as shows in screen shot.
